UGHE 2027 MBBS-MGHD scholarship applications open, deadline 17 January 2027

UGHE 2027 MBBS-MGHD Scholarship: Applications Are Now Open

Want to become a doctor and a health leader? The University of Global Health Equity (UGHE) has opened applications for its 2027 Bachelor of Medicine, Bachelor of Surgery and Master of Science in Global Health Delivery (MBBS-MGHD) programme, and it comes with a full scholarship.

About the Programme

The MBBS-MGHD is a 6.8-year integrated dual degree. It trains clinician-leaders who can solve problems at every level of health care, from treating one patient to improving a whole health system.

Graduates are prepared to work confidently as general practitioners in Rwanda and beyond. The curriculum is built on active learning, including team-based learning, simulation, and problem-based learning. Students also get early exposure to community medicine and clinical practice, so what they learn in class connects to real patient care from the start.

The programme runs in four phases:

• Foundations in Social Medicine and Global Health Equity: 8 months
• Biomedical Sciences Foundations of Medicine: 24 months
• Clinical and Health Delivery: 30 months
• Exploration and Development, including the government-assigned internship: 18 months

Scholarship Benefits

• Tuition-free education
• Accommodation
• Meals
• Health insurance
• Academic materials
• Free laptop

In return, students agree to serve vulnerable populations under the Ministry of Health for a set number of years after graduation, and they’re paid a full salary during that service.
